History:
England had a centuries-old tradition of hunting with foxes. For foxhunting dogs were used to track the fox looked up and then follow the trail loudly. The hunters followed the dogs on horseback and sometimes they could shoot a fox after hours. It was regular that a fox was hiding in his hole, so the dogs couldn't catch him. At that time there appeared a problem and that's how this particular kind of terrier came on the scene. This terrier could enter the cave that even sometimes went meters under the ground. As soon as the terrier found the fox he keeps on barking until the fox leaves his cave. The terriers that were used for this kind of hunting, got the name working terriers. Also the Fox Terrier belonged to this group of dogs.
